I think this is it this time!
So where do I begin. It is the same story that you hear from so many people. When I went to college I gained 20lbs. Then I got engaged and gained another 20. Since I have been married and have had 3 kids, I gained another 20. I have been on countless “diets” and have exercised off and on but never stuck with anything longer than a couple months.

So why is it different this time. Well I have to change. I had a scare a couple weeks ago, chest pains and had to call 911. Early heart disease runs in my family, my dad and his parents died from heart attacks at the age of 53. Now I am only 36 but my dad started having heart problems in his 30’s and it is always on the back of my mind. I had several tests done over 2 days in the hospital and still waiting to get some results. Needless to say I am overweight and my cholestrol is borderline high. I have to do something to get healthy once and for all. For myself, for my husband and for my 3 kids. So here I am. At the hospital a couple weeks ago I weighed 190. This morning I woke up and weighed myself. 183.5!!!! It is so great to see my recent efforts of eating healthy and exercising are paying off. I really want this but I am aware of the losing 20 lbs losing the motivation, gaining it back and giving up. That is why I am here, to get some support and hopefully give some as well. Thanks for listening.!

I have some of the same reasons for being here. Heart disease and hypertension run in my family. I haven’t yet experienced any scares (thank you God) and I’d like to keep it that way! Plus, I really wanna look hot in a swimsuit.

Welcome to the boards!
I loved how you wrote it in the correct order…You must do this for yourself first, your family second…HONEST…
Best of luck on your journey!
